| Before debating over the beneficial effects of
the bee pollen it is important to clearly understand what bee pollen
actually is. Pollen is the male seed of any flower. It plays a crucial
function in the fertilization process of any plant. All the minuscule
pollen particles consist of over 1 000 millimeter particles, which
can be observed at the free end of the stamen in the center of the
blossoming flower.
Young bees have as main source of nutrients flower pollen, whose
composition comprises 40% proteins. Among the natural foods, bee
pollen is ranged as one of the most nourishing and healthy, due
to the fact that it contains most of the nutriments required by
the human body. Thus, about half of the proteins contained by this
substance comes in the form of free amino acids, which are easily
assimilated by the human body.
However, despite the fact that it represents an important source
of nutriments and vitamins, pollen is not at all easy to gather,
at least not for the human beings. Bees do indeed have a special
technique for gathering flower pollen and they are provided by Mother
Nature with special baskets for storing the pollen, while humans
have to strive harder in order to perform the same activity.
Bee pollen has represented an important subject for various research.
Despite of the extremely numerous analysis of its content, conducted
with high tech equipments, there are certain elements in the pollen
collected by bees, which specialists could not identified. Apparently,
bees add a special ingredient, impossible to identify, which acts
as a magical substance in the process of curing various illnesses.
Apart from gathering pollen and carrying it to the hive, bees perform
another important function. They play a crucial role in the pollination
of over 80% of the plants, as a result of the fact that they fly
from one flower to the other and their body gathers the pollen particles
with an incredible efficiency.
The main reason why bee pollen is so highly appreciated is related
to the fact that it contains all the components of life. An analysis
of the rejuvenating elements in bee pollen can demonstrate at any
time the incredible accumulation of vitamins, able to provide great
benefits to the human body. Hence, bee pollen can correct deficient
or unbalanced nutrition, which is not unusual in the nowadays busy
society, which does not encourage healthy eating.
Various cultures and civilizations have placed a great accent on
bee pollen consumption, for various purposes, since ancient times.
Chinese medicine, considered pollen a source for energy and nutritive
tonic. Other cultures use it for other various applications, such
as increasing the levels of endurance and vitality, as a factor
that contributes to longevity extension, to preventing infections
(especially cold or flu), regulating the intestines, helping preventing
or overcoming developmental problems in children. Moreover, bee
pollen confers protection against radiations and has anti-cancer
properties.
As a final remark, many medical miracles have been attributed to
the continuous use of bee pollen, reason for which many people consume
it as regularly as possible.
