| With the advancement of modern medical science,
there are many men and women health issues that have treatments
available on the general market, without prescription in many cases,
to help alleviate symptoms or even reverse the effects of the complaint
in a few cases.
Our understanding of health issues in general has also led to some
products designed to deal with them before they become a problem.
Many of men’s health problems, for example, stem from the
difference in their lifestyle as compared with their female counterparts.
By the same token there are some women health issues which are
particular to them and which do not affect men in the same way,
if at all. It is the understanding of the differences between the
sexes that leads on the one hand to new solutions, and on the other
to the way that they are sold.
For example, sexual dysfunction occurs in both men and women. However,
as a men’s health issue, the remedy is sold far more strongly
towards men than an equivalent would be towards women. Put another
way, there are some products which seem almost inappropriate to
try and sell towards women, evidenced by the whole Viagra episode.
Perhaps it is just that men are more susceptible, or worry more
about such issues than women.
There are also diseases which are as much an issue in men as in
women’s health – Alzheimer's, for example, can occur
in both sexes, cannot be stopped or reversed, yet there are many
products on the market which can, or claim to be able to, help with
many of the symptoms; from sleeplessness to depression, agitation
and anxiety attacks.
Of course, there are also many lifestyle decisions which cause
men’s health to be generally poorer than women’s health.
In many cases the kind of lifestyle that men adopt leads to heart
complaints, increased blood pressure, and so on. Women tend to take
more care of themselves, but then again, have other health issues
such as menstrual cramping, which can be treated affectively with
over the counter remedies.
Finally, there are the shared diseases which can be exacerbated
by lifestyle choices, such as diabetes, which might need special
handling, but not necessarily high impact medial treatment, or psoriasis
(skin infections) which will necessarily cause a change in lifestyle.
Whatever the issue, one thing is sure – someone, somewhere,
will have a remedy, or at least claim to.
Coping with Alzheimer's - Alzheimers
disease is one of the most difficult of all health issues to deal
with, both as the sufferer and as someone close to them trying
to cope with day to day life. Part of the difficulty stems from
the fact that it is often diagnosed late on because ...
Treat High Cholesterol to Reduce
Risk of Heart Disease - High cholesterol is chiefly caused
by augmenting the cholesterol that is produced naturally in the
body by absorbing additional amounts from foodstuffs. For those
who are eating a high protein diet, containing a large amount
of milk or eggs, this is not good news, since these also contain
cholesterol.
Understanding Hypertension (High
Blood Pressure) - When hypertension occurs, the risk is that
the high pressure of the blood rushing through the arteries in
your body can cause them to rupture. In the worst case, the heart
can even become put under such strain that it stops working altogether,
causing a heart attack.
Understanding Macular Degeneration
- Before understanding how macular degeneration affects a person,
it is necessary to take a look at what it is, and how it relates
to the eye in general. Firstly, macular degeneration affects the
central part of a person’s vision. That is, an area of the
central vision becomes degraded to a point where the image will
become extremely blurred or distorted.
Getting Psoriasis Help - If you
have psoriasis, the chances are you might not be aware of it,
unless it has been diagnosed in your ancestry, and the information
passed down to you. Many sufferers do not even seem to seek treatment,
and might put down the effects to simple eczema or other skin
irritations.
Understanding Type 2 Diabetes
- Diabetes is a condition that affects around 6% of the US
population, and the majority of those cases are the less serious
type 2 diabetes. All forms of diabetes need treatment, and in
the worst case, insulin injections are required to provide replacement
for all the insulin usually provided naturally by the body.
Dealing with Sexual Dysfunction
- Sexual dysfunction can cover a wide variety of issues in an
otherwise healthy interpersonal relationship, and can also be
the root cause of the breakdown of that relationship. Most cases
of sexual dysfunction can be treated, sometimes as easily as talking
over the problems...
Understanding Viagra - It's almost
a taboo subject amongst healthy men, but Erectile Dysfunction,
or ED, affects more than half of all men over the age of 40. For
them, a satisfying sex life seemed always to be just out of reach.
Being entirely unable to gain an erection, or having difficulties
in gaining an ...
The Cialis Advantage - Cialis is a
prescription drug used in the treatment of mild to severe erectile
dysfunction (ED) in men. It has some advantages over rival medicines,
but provides the same basic support to ED sufferers based on increasing
the flow of blood to the genitals.
